Works from the beginning of the 20th century to its end, covering a wide range of musical styles. The musical journey to pluralism and imagination begins with the Argentine tangos of A. Piazzolla and the Greek folklore elements of N. Skalkotas, passes to the imaginative minimalism of J. Adams and the jazz touches of G. Gershwin without missing the reference to two classical composers of the 20th century, B. Bartok and W. Lutoslawsky.
Croatian pianist Beata Pincetić and Greek pianist Christos Sakellaridis, met in Budapest in 1992, during their studies at the ‘Ferenc Liszt’ Music Academy. Although married, they followed different paths in their careers until they decided to work together as a piano duo in 2003. Since then they have developed their repertoire for four hands and two pianos, which includes classical and romantic music, 20th century works, as well as works by contemporary composers. They have given numerous concerts and participated in festivals in Greece and Europe (England, Cyprus, France, Italy, Croatia, Norway, Switzerland). They share a love for music written for two pianos in the 20th century, as well as for works or transcriptions of works that are great but rarely performed or remain forgotten. This album is the fruit of their research and this shared interest.
