Anapolontas

ANAPOLONTAS is an album of modern Jazz duets, featuring pianist Aris Papadopoulos and double bassist Grigoris Theodoridis.

ANAPOLONTAS, which in Greek means reminiscing, is a modular project comprised of four musical ideas. Unnecessary Thoughts, composed by G. Theodoridis and Children’s Story, Stargate and Synapseis, composed by. A. Papadopoulos. Between them, interludes #1, #2 and #3, together with the introduction and the epilogue, create a background of nostalgic recollection of the past (Innocence and Chaos) and an anxious contemplation of the present (Simplicity and Desire) and the future (Tomorrows). The music unfolds trough free interactive improvisation which transcends the forms of the compositions. The introduction, interludes and the epilogue also constitute parts of an autonomous composition which repeats a sense of reminiscing at the end of the project. ANAPOLONTAS is the duet’s debut album.
