Grigoris Theodoridis Trio

The Grigoris Theodoridis Trio is a new project led by double bassist and composer Grigoris Theodoridis, a prolific artist in the Greek Jazz scene. The trio have recently recorded their first album, titled Green of Silence which will be released in May 2023 by Irida Music. The album’s six compositions trace Theodoridis’ musical path from The Hague to Athens with several intermediate stops along the way.

The sound of the New York and Tokyo jazz scenes weave a web within which the expressiveness of the sounds of Latin America and the mysterious charm of the Far East are entangled. Various musical experiences are reflected in bold improvisations that give breath to silence, groundedness to melody, space to noise.

Attila Gyárfás (drums) and Orestis Petrakis (piano), fellow travelers in the Grigoris Theodoridis Trio bring experience and spontaneity, improvisational freedom and inspiration, gracing us with enchanting influences from different parts of the world that accompany this jazz musical journey.
